Adventurous Route (CottonWood Pass Directions)

-Head north on Pena Blvd toward Shady Grove St.
-Hit I-70 West
-take exit 260 to merge onto CO-470 E toward Colorado Springs
-Take the exit onto US-285 S toward Fairplay
-take US-285 S until Johnson Village (near Buena Vista) (a while)
-take a right at the stop sign Hwy-24 towards Buena Vista and turn left at W. Main St (CR-306)  
in town and follow signs towards Cottonwood pass.
-take CR-305 - 209 over Cottonwood Pass. (it is a long slow drive, but nice sights at the 
top of the pass.
-go to the very bottom of the pass and turn left at Taylor Reservoir (742) and head around 
the lake staying on 742.
-Take 742 all of the way to Almont.
-Take a left to go to Gunnison and a right to head to Crested Butte.
